Change the look of your browser with themes

You can change how your start page and other Opera pages appear by applying themes. There are a few themes that come with Opera. You can find them in the theme manager by selecting View >Themes. For Windows and Linux users, go to O Menu > Themes.

Wallpapers page

Click a theme you like to change the look of your browser. Or, if you want to find more themes, click the Get more themes link in the sidebar to go to the themes section of addons.opera.com/. From there, you can browse and install themes created by the Opera community.

The themes you download from the site can be found under the My themes link in the theme manager.

Create your own theme

You can create a theme from any image you find on the web. Ctrl+click an image and select Use Image as Theme.

You can also create your own theme with any image you have saved on your computer. To do so:

  1. Select View > Show Themes or O Menu > Themes
  2. Click Create your theme on the sidebar.
  3. Type a name, select an image, and choose the image’s alignment and font treatment for how you’d like your theme to display.
  4. Click Create.

Your custom themes install automatically and appear under the My themes section of the theme manager.

Add extra functionality with extensions

You can give your browser new capabilities by adding extensions. These plug-ins have been created to block advertisements, make articles more readable, translate web pages automatically and much more.

To manage your extensions, select View > Show Extensions. Click the Get more extensions link in the sidebar to go to the extensions section of addons.opera.com/. From there, you can browse and install extensions created by the Opera community.

Some extensions will appear by default at the right side of the combined address and search bar. Click the extension’s button to interact with it, or Ctrl+click it to change its options or view more options in the extension manager.
