How do I use Opera’s snapshot feature?

There are two ways to open Opera’s snapshot feature:

  • Use the keyboard shortcut: Shift + Ctrl + 5 (+ + 2 on macOS).
  • Click the snapshot icon on the right side of the combined address and search bar.

After opening snapshot, you can frame what you want to capture by clicking and dragging the frame.

The quickest way to capture a screenshot after opening the tool is to press Ctrl + C ( + C on macOS) on your keyboard. The screenshot will be copied to your clipboard, and snapshot will close. However, you will not be able to use editing tools for your screenshot.

If you want to edit your screenshot after capturing it, use the Capture or Capture Full Screen buttons.

Opera’s snapshot feature includes these editing tools:

  1. Zoom
  2. Arrow
  3. Blur
  4. Pencil
  5. Selfie camera
  6. Emojis

When you are finished editing the screenshot, you can choose to Copy and Close the image or to Save Image.

Clicking Copy and Close will copy the screenshot to your clipboard, ideal for quickly pasting it to a message in an integrated sidebar messenger or into another application, such as a word processor or graphics editor.

If you wish to save the screenshot to your system, click Save Image. It will be saved as a .png file in a location of your choosing.
