Widgets
Press Page Down and Page Up to switch slides.
Opera Widgets are miniature applications that run alongside Opera and live on your desktop. There are widgets for just about any purpose—weather forecasts, games, clocks, dictionaries, media players, and much more.
To find and install a new Opera widget, use the Widgets panel or menu and select "Add widget". This will open a Web page where you can search and download widgets that Opera will install automatically.
Controlling widgets
You can drag and place widgets anywhere you want on your screen. Each widget can have individual settings for where and how it should be displayed, these are available in the widget's context menu:
| Normal | Treat widget as any other program on your desktop. |
|---|---|
| Always below | Keep widget below all other programs on your desktop |
| Always on top | Keep widget on top no matter which program has focus |
| Reload | Reload widget |
| Close | Close widget |
When you have closed a widget, you can re-open it from the menu or panel.
Note: Even if Opera's widgets look and behave as separate mini-programs, they run within Opera. When you close Opera, the widgets will also be closed.
Go to or use the Widget panel to rearrange your widget collection and delete widgets you no longer want.
Widget buttons
Widgets, although not standardized, tend to use similar icons or symbols to present their functions. The two most common are:
- Turning arrow
- "Flip" the widget and access its settings
- Small letter i
- Display information about the widget
