Programs

Press Page Down and Page Up to switch slides

Choose which programs Opera should use to handle specific protocols.

Protocol Manager

You can create your own list of programs to launch when executing particular protocols in Opera. The default list includes:

Protocol Purpose
mailto Choose which application Opera should use for e-mail; Opera's own built-in client, the default e-mail client on your computer, or a specific other e-mail client.
telnet Communicate with other computers through a command-line interface.
tn3270 For communication with IBM mainframes. See IETF RFC 1576 for specifications.

You can ask Opera to make sure at each start-up that it is the default browser on your computer.

Source Viewer

The source viewer is the program you want to launch when you select View > Source or press Ctrl+F3 to see the source of a Web page.

By default, Opera will use its own built-in source viewer.
