Choose which programs Opera should use to handle specific protocols.
Protocol Manager
You can create your own list of programs to launch when executing particular protocols in Opera. The default list includes:
| Protocol | Purpose |
|---|---|
| mailto | Choose which application Opera should use for e-mail; Opera's own built-in client, the default e-mail client on your computer, or a specific other e-mail client. |
| telnet | Communicate with other computers through a command-line interface. |
| tn3270 | For communication with IBM mainframes. See IETF RFC 1576 for specifications. |
You can ask Opera to make sure at each start-up that it is the default browser on your computer.
Source Viewer
The source viewer is the program you want to launch when you select or press Ctrl+F3 to see the source of a Web page.
By default, Opera will use its own built-in source viewer.
