Disabling GIF and SVG animations will make animated images in these formats display as ordinary graphics.
Disable sound in Web pages for example if you listen to music from your computer and do not want to be interrupted by sounds generated by Web pages.
Note that disabling sounds in Web pages will also disable Voice.
If you disable frames or inline frames, pages that use them will display alternative content if available.
To see how Web pages with frames are constructed, enable frame borders. When you view framed pages, the currently active frame will always be outlined.
You can choose whether to show forms and scroll bars in Web pages in the standard style or allow Web sites to style them differently.
My style sheet
Click "Choose" to select a personal style sheet to use. Note that the default "user.css" is a blank file. This style sheet will not be listed on the Style menu.
Opera has two modes for viewing Web pages. "Author mode" lets you see a Web page as its author intended, while "User mode" lets you view the page in your own style.
You can select which mode to use as a rule, and you can edit display settings for each mode. Note that "My fonts and colors" and "My link style" refer to the settings in the Web page preferences.
Tip: To switch between the two modes while browsing, press Shift+G, or use the drop-down button on the View bar.
Some sites use Java to offer interactive content on Web pages. If you do not have Java installed, Opera will automatically offer to take you to a download site when you encounter such content. Disable Java if you do not want to run Web-page Java applets on your computer.
Many multimedia files on the Web require third-party software, known as plug-ins, to be played.
You may completely disable plug-ins. Then you will only see files that Opera can display by itself.
All the above preferences apart from presentation mode are available as site preferences. From the general content preferences you can also directly access all site preferences and all blocked content.
