Decide how Opera should handle files you download.

File types
Opera comes with a default setup for handling files downloaded to your computer.
To add your own file types:
- Click "Add".
- Enter the correctly spelled MIME string you wish to set up.
- Enter a list of comma-separated file extensions to associate with the file type, for example "jpeg, jpg, jpe".
- Select the action Opera should take when encountering this file type.

| Show download dialog | Display multiple choice dialog on how to handle file. |
| Open with Opera | Opera can show text, markup languages, and images. |
| Save to disk |

| Open with default application | Let your operating system (Windows) decide which program to use when opening files of this file type. |
| Open with other application | Use a different application than the one your operating system is set to use by default.You can pass the file address directly to the application (useful with streaming multimedia) |
| Use plug-in | Use a plug-in to view the file |
Tip: Type in the "Quick find" field to find the file type you want to edit.
Note: Be careful when editing file types. Opera depends on certain file types in order to work properly.
Download folder
Opera will set up a default download folder for you. Click "Choose" to specify a different folder on your computer.
When using the "Save to download folder" option, files are downloaded to this directory without asking for confirmation.
