Password Manager is Opera's password and form manager. Enable it to let Opera store user names and passwords the first time you enter them, and to automatically fill in personal information in webforms.
When you visit a website with a stored user name and password, you can log in simply by clicking the Password Manager button on the address bar, or by pressing Ctrl+Enter.
Note that user names and passwords are encrypted on disk. If you want to protect your Password Manager from other users on the same computer by setting a master password, go to the Security preferences under "Advanced".
Password Manager passwords can be deleted from.
Auto-filling of forms
Some sites require you to fill in personal information such as your name and address. Rather than typing the same information over and over, you can enter it once here.
After entering your personal information in the preferences, you can quickly fill in forms by selecting from a drop-down once you start typing into the field, or by right-clicking the field.
Right-clicking any input field, including chat sessions and email messages, will produce a sub-menu called "Insert personal", where you can select information that you have stored in the preferences.
If Opera recognizes a form field as one you have entered information for in the Forms preferences, you can also use Password Manager to fill in the field. Click the Password Manager icon on the address bar or press Ctrl+Enter.
Tip: Use the "Other" fields for alternate addresses or other snippets of personal information you find yourself repeatedly typing into forms.
