Tabs
Press Page Down and Page Up to switch slides
You can have multiple Web documents and messaging views open at the same time, they are all visible as tabs on the tab bar.
Ctrl-click a tab to see its context menu, which lets you perform actions such as:
- Duplicating the tab. Open a new tab that retains your current tab's browsing history.
- Creating a linked tab. Any link you click in the current tab will be opened in the linked tab.
- Lock the tab to avoid inadvertently closing it, particularly useful for chat sessions.
- Closing one, all, or all but one tab.
Tab Preferences
The preferences let you tweak Opera's tab setup to your liking.
Tab cycling
By holding the Alt key and repeatedly pressing Tab, you can cycle through all the tabs you have open within the active Opera window. This setting allows you to choose what order the tabs should be cycled in, and whether you want to see the list of open tabs while you are cycling through them.
New tabs
When you open an item from the panels, such as a bookmark, would you like the document to open in a new tab or to appear in the tab that is currently active? If you want to avoid opening new tabs with each item, opt to "Reuse current tab".
Check the "Open new tab next to active" option if you want new tabs that you open to appear next to your current page on the tab bar. By default, new tabs will be added at the right end of the row of tabs on the tab bar.
By default, when you open new tabs, they will open within one Opera application window. Select "Open windows instead of tabs" to change this.
